Pros:
-Fairly user friendly
-More downloadable catalogs on the Home Designer website

Cons:
It's lacking a few things:
-no furniture for children's rooms (like cribs or changing tables)
-no fitness equipment
-no garage equipment (like vehicles, tools or workbenches)
-a piano stool, but... no pianos (even though a picture in the product description shows a living room with a grand piano in it- misleading)

Other minor issues:
-There is no way to import 3d models, so you're out of luck if the library is missing something you want.
-Some objects cannot be edited (size, material, etc.)
-It freezes/crashes a lot

Not a bad program overall. Make sure the drivers for your video card are updated or a lot of your materials will show up blank white in 3d mode. It took me a lot of time and frustration to figure this out!
