As with the HGTV Home & Remodeling program, reviews of this product seem to be critical of the amount of time it takes to learn the program. However, in my opinion, for non-professionals it is worth the time invested to have a workable model of your home. Plus, there are so many features to continue exploring for years to come!!
It did take me several hours to figure the software out, but once I got a feel for the program, it was pretty simple and fun.
We are planning a large remodel to a portion of our home to accommodate an in law suite. This program allowed us to sketch up all the necessary details and see them for comparison, which has been invaluable. The landscape portions are even more exciting, as you can adjust for slope and placement. I can't wait to work on our patio and deck!
The help functions are very accessible and easy to use. With several hours of time logged, it started to become intuitive how to use the program, and that is without any previous CAD experience.
All in all, I would recommend this product if you are willing to put in the time to learn how to use it. It does take time, but it's worth the output for DIY home owners!
